2013 Grant Awarded
Horse Aid Live awarded just one grant in December 2013. We received many applications, but this year one organization stood out in dire need for hay and feed to for horses that were rescued from crisis situations or owner-surrendered due to economic reasons. Recipient was chosen based on many factors relative to the budget/size of each organization with an emphasis placed on the number of horses that would be served, the focus to retrain and rehome, and the amount/percentage of overall budget spent on salaries and administrative costs. Grant applications were open to any recognized 501(C)3 organization in the United States that retrains, rehabilitates, shelters, and/or rehomes horses.
