Kentucky-based rock/alt rock band Ash Wednesday writes powerfully uplifting jangly rock with a host of subtle, toe-tapping influences. The four member band has the distinction of being the first independent band to be picked up for rotation by Clear Channel station WKQQ with their song "Something Good" in December 2005. "They have been compared to Tom Petty, that is, if he got in a fist fight with Oasis," as Ash Wednesday self-describes their sound.
